KIKI’S DELIVERY SERVICE 2D GAME
Kiki’s Delivery Service is a 2D platformer game developed as part of a university team project. The game follows a storytelling experience where the player controls Jiji, a cat on a mission to collect missing ingredients for Kiki’s magic potion while navigating through different environments and challenges.
The project involved designing characters, creating visual assets, and developing interactive gameplay using Stencyl, combining both creative and technical aspects of game development.

THE goal &
objective
The main goal was to design and develop a fully functional 2D game that combines storytelling, level design, and interactive gameplay.
The objective was to create an engaging player experience through obstacles, collectables, and progression across multiple levels, while also developing skills in teamwork, game logic, and visual design.
THE STORY
The game follows Jiji, Kiki’s cat, who is sent on a journey across the city to collect essential ingredients needed for a magic potion. Each level represents a different environment filled with obstacles, enemies, and collectables that the player must overcome to progress.
The story is designed to be simple yet engaging, allowing players to focus on gameplay while still feeling a sense of purpose and progression. As Jiji moves through the levels, the challenges become more complex, reflecting growth in both gameplay difficulty and player skill.
In the final level (Bakery), the gameplay reaches its peak, where players must apply all learned mechanics, like jumping, collecting, and avoiding enemies, to successfully complete the mission and return to Kiki.
OUR APPROACH
The project followed a collaborative workflow where the team brainstormed the game concept, visual style, and gameplay mechanics. Each member contributed to creating assets such as characters, backgrounds, and interface elements, ensuring a consistent visual identity across the game.
Development was carried out using Stencyl, where game logic, interactions, and level design were implemented. The game was divided into three levels, with each team member responsible for designing and developing one level, allowing for both individual contribution and team integration.
My contribution focused on designing and developing the third level (Bakery), which included creating gameplay challenges such as moving platforms, enemies, and collectable items like bread and power-ups. The level was designed to be the most challenging stage, requiring players to combine all mechanics learned from previous levels.
the outcome
The final result is a fully playable 2D game that combines storytelling, visual design, and interactive gameplay. The project demonstrates strong skills in game design, problem solving, and teamwork, while also showcasing the ability to develop structured and engaging digital experiences.
